aws.internal._supports_cache_point

(internal) Whether a `${cache()}` sends a `cachePoint` to this model. Converse accepts a checkpoint for Anthropic Claude and Amazon Nova, and answers 403 ("You invoked an unsupported model or your request did not allow prompt caching") for the other families it serves — Llama, Mistral, DeepSeek and gpt-oss were checked. So the default is given only to what is known to take one, by the same substring test as `_supports_tool_result_status`. An unrecognized id (an application inference profile ARN, a custom model) gets none; its author writes `${cache({ "type": "default" })}`, which is always sent.
